Randomly thinking - will VRX become a takeover target by SLCA? SLCA is a leading US silica sand supplier but its products are mainly used in oil and gas industry. SLCA SP had high SP of ~US$70 (2013) & ~US$60 (2016) and a low of US$0.8 this year largely in line with oil & gas trend. The SP is recovering and currently at ~US$6. The company is diversifying its products for higher-value applications and likely will need to secure silica resources with high purity and large volume.
