While other rumours have centred on Incitec Pivot snapping up Wesfarmers fertiliser business, a different rumour involving the same parties has been flagged in the AFR. This time its the prospect of the Western Australian conglomerate rekindling its acquisition appetite by making a scrip bid for the fertiliser and industrial explosives group (with which it operates an east coast joint venture), given its share price has tracked along nicely lately and move would reduce the relative weight of its retail operations.
May be wesfarmers is trying to pull it down to give takeover offer...
