"The fall in Nufarm's shares is a blow to those who took part in a fund-raising pitched at $5.75 a share in April, and to major shareholder Sumitomo Chemical Co, which took up a stake of 20 per cent at $14 a share last year.
Japan's Sumitomo bought its stake as Nufarm rejected a reduced $2.62 billion takeover offer from China's Sinochem Corp in December.
With Nufarm's shares now much lower, and some analysts expecting the fiscal 2010 result to be as bad as it gets for the group, JPMorgan said there is now the potential for further corporate activity either by Sumitomo or a third party"
