Bega have been running their own race on price for a few years now and are fast becoming the price bench mark. Personally I would like to see the two combine as milk will soon flood back allowing efficiencies once more. A lot of disgruntled Fonterra farmers. Having said that it would appear Saputo has the cash and will do it easier. Concerning is the thought of selling it off to one buyer in a piece meal fashion to beat the 90% rule.
