    @dkayed makes an interesting observation. If a takeover is based on 3 month average + XX%, then it would make sense that they are looking to drive the price lower.

    What I can't make heads or tails of, is that there is a significant amount of discussion here about price, but very little discussion on volume. Let's use simple numbers. If 10 people own 90% of the company, a company they are convinced is worth $1BN, and 1000 people are trading in the other 10% on the basis that it's worth less than half that amount, then there are two completely different markets. Same company, same share class, but it isn't real to talk about them as the same market. The company isn't being devalued, there is just some really odd things happening in the margins. I think we need to include more volumetric aspects to the discussion.
