I also dont see the long term issue with the debt levels. I would prefer STO to trade out of this using the very well established revenue stream and sell down under-performing or unloved smaller assets over the next year or so. The company would then be very well positioned within 2 years to capitalise on the inevitable increase in the price of oil. Just saying!
