Firstly, the article was pulled from the Fin; hardly a low brow, tabloid rag.
Secondly, I hardly think the takeover talk is cheap. The most credible argument I've heard to date (apart from my thorough in depth analysis of how we're just stupidly undervalued), is that CVN get first dibs at any part of Dorado that Santos wants to sell.
If Santos has stated that they're now considering offloading some, surely someone wanting a bigger slice of the pie would consider now as an excellent time to wade in and take us out.
