I would have thought it would be simpler to just do a LOM buyout here, if they were inclined at all.
They would inherihit the JV portion anyway, and have the financial clout to move it along very quickly, possibly a bonus now for an Angolan govt. now facing lower oil revenues.
The alluvials would need to show solid performance and a kimberlite program that looks like delivering at least economic pipe.
Just my thoughts, but DeBeers is looking to reenter Angola are they not?
