humbly speaking, I feel that premier aim to control and then eventually take over all the outstanding shares, the synergies and efficiency gained between this effective merger will create a retail behemoth and with Solomon having balls big enough to hammer landlords, MYER (under Premier) will be a retail force to be reckoned with. I know they want control but the stocks are too cheap so it I feel they would also want to capitalize on the low share price by taking it all over for between .80-.90 which would be a great result for Premier. After Solomon is done harmoniously Marrying all of premiers operations into MYER stores whilst simultaneously grinding down all MYER greedy landlords, I feel he will be in such a powerful position that he would then set his sights on David Jones (which I feel he'll get on cheap because this new merger will surely take a large chunk of DJs market share IMO) the smartest thing for DJs to do now is to at least establish a blocking stake now while the shares are still cheap or take it over now themselves (while the shares are still very cheap).
