If they were in serious talks the share price would not be where it is. The share price is reflecting the fact that there are parties with an interest but nothing that is yet anywhere near suitable for the board. Note: Many companys get proposals hoping for a giveaway.
With brokers pushing the story it would seem that some clients are getting out as BND's margin per tonne is going to be squeezed if the coal price falls with other commodity prices. Last time brokers were pushing this stock I bought and promptly saw the share price rally and fall in a very similar fashion seen today. However, at these prices it is probably reasonable to hold with a view to purchase more if it falls another 20%.
