I take the liberty of starting a new thread and stop taking up space on the Charts discussion. ( Maybe the mods can transfer some of those previous posts to this thread).
In my experience takeovers seem to come out of the blue in most cases. Sometimes a leaky boat starts discussion. Sometimes a take occurs after it becomes obvious that there is a party taking up an ever increasing holding. I think that discussion here is about what individuals would like to happen and little about what is happening, takeover wise. A lot of good discussion is pointing out what could be reasons for some organisation to want LYC.
My take on this is that the main reason anyone would want LYC is to tie up certainty of supply. Another reason is that now is a great time to get a great deal. Both these reasons are why it could happen but there seems no evidence to show that it is even close to happening.
