I remembered well this discussion and was amused when all of a sudden I saw the concept of an FMG partnership being mooted by the big guns all of a sudden. How quickly things change not only in politics, but HotCopper it seems!!!
I agree that the concept of trucking to Hedland is not necessarily a problem. I do however see potential problems in gaining port slots until 2012. You no doubt will have a better handle on that than I.
That said, and as per my previous post, why would any sensible director even contemplate divestment in market conditions such as these. You'd have to have had a fair dose of the green stuff and stolen some of those boogie boards off the Chinese for an all night bender.
As I said, if divestiture is being contemplated (which appears to be the case: I trust the Bungle Burger in matters such as these), are there any other sort of incentives being thrown into the mix??? There'd have to be to consider selling at less than fair value.
While we're at it, roo for me: duck can be a bit stringy. And leave me some of that hooch.
