I am also an ex-Amara holder.

I agree with you that a takeover could result in a lot of longer term value being swiped from shareholders if they give in to the siren call of a cheeky offer. I hope we have enough patient long-term shareholders who are ready to tie themselves to the mast and sail on for higher returns.

For the shareholder base to do that it will be important for management to have established the right credibility with them so they are ready and persuasive if the sirens come calling.

If we are lucky we could see a competitive bid situation develop, but on the other hand many of the big gold miners splurged last time round and are under shareholder pressure not to do the same this time round. So I think it's more likely that any potential bid would be a contest between management's forecast bright future vs a bidder's siren song of immediate cash/shares in hand.
