CCI Holdings (CHL) really only has two competitors in the coal testing market in Australia. 1.ACIRL a much smaller company than CHL, and 2.SGS A much larger swiss based company who does this sort of work all over the world, but in Australia is only about half the size of CHL.
Campbell brothers does analytical work for the minerals mining companies, buthas no presence in coal testing.
On the question of profitability, there will be no impediment to profit over the next couple of years with a very harsh stand taken on asset carrying values over recent years. Now the net assets of the company is much smaller and does not give any sort of correlation to what the commercial worth of the company is, but in shareholders favour now is much lower amortisation and depreciation levels due to the assets being carried having a much lower book value.
CHL Shareholders are in for at least 2 stellar years provided the company can resist the t/o challenge from CPB.
