I'm still amazed in regards to the intraday 44% SP drop a few weeks back. Would be interesting to know who the sellers were (there were quite a few on the volume) down below $2.00 and what their motives were.
In any case, the takeover offer by SG Fleet looks like a bit of the joke and I am sure the ECX directors saw it as such. End of the day ECX has a low PE ratio, a healthy dividend and solid forecast earnings growth - indeed it looks to be much better value than SG Fleet on all three metrics (note this quick analysis hasn't looked at debt levels).
Looking at SG Fleets current valuation plus a premium think we should be aiming for at around $4.00 in a revised bid.
