Also, I have to say I would be surprised to see a PE fund landing an offer when the financial results are due out in September. Earnings are skewed towards H2 and the extent of the supply chain / working capital / Debt issues will be known then. Submitting an offer now would be buying blind.
If performance is worse than expected, they can pull out and never return as I wouldn't see shareholders taking a downward revision to the bid lightly, but if performance is better they will have to up their offer to gain approval. Wait and see is the best strategy I think for any interested buyer.
Also, I have to say I would be surprised to see a PE fund...
