Westpac have the money. But they want out of the advice business and sold out of funds management by floating off BT.
Not sure why they would want AMP. The bank would be small addition for them.
I suppose it could be a link for their BT platform business which they have retained. Funny thing is that AMP looked at buying BT back in 2000. How things change.
