Certainly, if Ampol believes it has a future with hyrdrogen charging or fast charging EV stations then the most logical step is to buy in one scope a monopoly business in a geographic area that's closest to you and has a legal and cultural environment similar to the one your operating in above anything else. That is Z Energy. Using the pandemic and lower SP they can make a serious boost and make cost savings without having a seperate corporate structure/legal entity. They know they have once in a generation opportunity to make this happen and will likely to put an offer. The only question is how much do they value Z Energy cashflows excluding headoffice, dual listing costs etc.... and what they are willing to pay for it.
