Most components of all mining gear are changed out (replaced or rebuilt) at certain pre planed intervals. (Hours of service) Regardless of the wear, or condition. For instance an engine 10k hours, whether is running like a charm or not. It’s called preventative maintenance.
For the life of me I can’t see those intervals ever changing due to other factors that affect the buckets. IE the ground engaging components. (Cutting edges, teeth and wear bars)
