I don't pretend to know a heap about their philosophy. Their long term strategy is a very long term one. HCI have a demonstrated history of taking majority stakes in companies and then retaining them (ie not completing a full takeover) for years and years. Retaining my shares is a decision that's flowed from a variety of factors, several of which won't apply to other people, eg there is a very special tax situation applicable to my personal circumstances. And also I don't mind holding unlisteds / illiquids, which is something many people rightly have a strong aversion to.
