    sabre, i read through the full year report front to back yesterday...

    vba did make reference to a $60 million approx expense relating to V Australia but it must be remembered that approx $40 million was also spent on that program last year.

    they made numerous references to fuel costs (some of which is hedged) but the fact they have reduced the rebate and given some money back to the public is testiment to the fact their fuel costs are reducing.

    to say that VBA are forecasting a loss this year is simply false. near the end of the CEO/Chairmans report their almost exact words were that they believe they will end up with another positive result but it will be challenging. with the fuel costs reducing by 2/3rds i think that is probably the biggest challenge dealt with - they must be well poised to at least match, if not surpass, last years result.

    if further clarification and good news flows from this AGM this could move north very fast. the fact that it is struggling today is perplexing, notice BAY is surging again in London as we speak, surely the aussie airlines need to play catch up soon?
