There are several hotspots still in many areas, Maroubra and surrounds in Sydney for eg. where prices have risen much more over the last few years compared with the rest of the Sydney market.
Overall however, the property market is not such a happy place IMO. Quite possibly badinvest, you have chosen the best time to unload that property, you may have timed that very well.
I would be interested to know, if your investment outpaced inflation over the time (say 3%/annum) you held it including cap gain and total income, and outgoings, such as stamp duty, maintenance, interest paid, negative gearing and other tax offsets, expenditure to market for sale?
