Yes I think he said something like that( 20-30%). I can’t see mass consumer cars needing more than 650-750 mAh/g . I’d suggest it’s equivalent to the full specs of a standard top ICE vehicle now. After that It’s a trade off.
I mean at the moment OEM’s are making these ICE cars based on cost parameters in balance with general driving needs.
Nothing will change with EV’s in that respect.Everyone now need a high powered V8 with top speeds of 300 kph and dual fuel tanks with powered 4 wheel drive? No not really, just some.
The real advantage I can see for the OEM’s is the batteries can be cheaper and smaller in volume as the capacity ( energy density is higher) increases. So cars can weigh less, charge faster, and allow more of a ‘fit to shape’ design.
OEM’s would like this as well as more units in the production line and more vehicles out the other end.
I luv the tech side but the real organisations who will fund and drive this I’d say are truely focused on LOW RISK,LOW COST,and HIGH VOLUME HIGH PROFITS.
From what I’ve heard from MT he is very very aware of this ...and that makes me confident in TLG.
