Just over three years ago, the Swedish Geological Survey declared the Vittangi deposit to be a mineral deposit of national interest meaning municipalities and central government agencies may not authorise activities that might prevent or significantly hinder exploitation of the mineral deposit.
So, what happened? Is the declaration helping Talga to bring the deposit into production faster? One wonders.
What is clear is that all government's have to crack on and put in place fast-track approval processes for the exploitation of critical minerals if we are to ensure a smooth transition to the green electrification of the world economy.
