The USA trained, equipped and paid lavishly a local army of 300,000 to uphold western values after their withdrawal. It took a bunch of men with Hiluxes and light weapons less than a week to sweep them aside. There's no reason a new "crusade" would be any more successful, still less any moral justification for one.
