Can anyone tell me of 0.5% royalty is from gross barrels/day or is it 0.5% of 'free cash flow' barrel i.e. after costs ? also I guess Alaska govt takes their royalty cut off OEL royalty cut.
If it is on gross barrels a 0.5 billion barrel find looks like this at US$40/barrel
500,000,000 (estime from main target) x 0.005 = 2,500,000 x US$40 = $US100,000,000 over the life of the producing well. of course if they hit in all targets & get 1.0bbl recoverable, then double that.
20 year life maybe - who knows & who knows if the world will even want oil in 20 years time BUT US$100,000,000 / 20 = US$5,000,000 per year for no risk (except missing out of the 10.8% of 0.5 bbl with costs)
+ of course any capital gain in PABR shares.
