Could be a case of, you guys put out an even more extreme view so ours doesn't look so bad and we'll give you something in return.
It also reads a bit like policy on the run, release to the media, gauge public perception, pick ideas and run with that.
I've said before, I'm not against a cap even though I am affected.
Not happy with taxing unrealised gains.
Not happy with the no indexation of the $3M even though they say it is open for governments to change in the future. Just index it and be done.
Those of preservation age or Retirement age can do something to avoid this if they choose to.
There needs to be a condition of release added for those under 60 to be able to take amounts over $3M if they choose.
