DJ MARKET TALK: Woodside May Still Need Equity Raising - Trader
0050 GMT [Dow Jones] Woodside (WPL.AU) may still need a big equity capital raising this
year, despite saying today it would rather go back to its lenders after raising US$800
million from debt markets in January. "They need US$1 billion to US$1.7 billion of
external funding in 2009 for their capex plans," says senior institutional trader at
major broker. "(There is) high risk they won't be able to get it all from
fractured debt markets. Look for an issue from them later in 2009." WPL down 2.6% at
A$31.56 after hitting A$32.77 on surprisingly strong FY results. (DWR)
