COCKATOO COAL: WORK UNDER WAY FOR BARALABA RESTART

Since emerging from administration in May, recapitalised Australian coal miner Cockatoo has begun planning for the restart of its suspended Baralaba mine in the Bowen Basin, central Qld in 2017 under a new mine plan that will enable it to increase saleable coal production to 3.5Mtpa if required.
Baralaba's FY16 production totalled 469,932t prior to care & maintenance in Feb 2016, down from 701,445t in FY15. Sales totalled 668,299t.
