Let me say, that although I have a different point of view I think your's and that of many other people who share your's is entirely credible. It has merit, but something just smells too fishy for me (for the reasons I explained).

In your post it states that Israel launched a 'surprise' air strike against Arab forces. This is my case and point, with emphasis on the word 'surprise'.

If you are going to strike, simple military logic dictates you keep it a surprise. If you do not intend to or cannot strike (for whatever reason) you don't have to 'keep mum' - in fact, you can still leverage the threat of it for the same end. This is what Israel is doing.

Its also far cheaper and less costly politically (if it works).

Don't get me wrong, I really believe Israel wants to strike (I know I would if my enemy was gunning for a nuke), but I also believe it secretly knows it cannot, and therefore its executing this next-best solution.

It may have its hands tied for any number of 'realpolitik' reasons. For example the strike's consequences may be greater and/or more probable than than the threat posed by the target, it may jeopardise other political agendas (such as its relationship with the US or others in the region) or objective assessments may indicate that, no matter how much Israel dislikes an Iranian nuke, the probability of successfully and permanently denying it to them in this way is so low it doesn't justify the mission.

If Israel's hands are tied, which I believe they are, to bluff is all they have and that is why we are hearing so much about it.

I know I have probably deviated off track here (I'm bad for this), so to get back to the original post and spare everyone from my take on world events:

I do want my MST shares to skyrocket, but I won't be looking to Mr Netanyahu to make it happen. One, because a war with Iran is all hot air and two, I don't believe the MST tech is that highly correlated with events in the middle east at this point in time. Here is hoping that will change one day.

    Dave
