And of course it could go the other way for many different reasons - continual delays, poor results, downtrend market conditions, Fuji/apceth deciding to go all in with a competitor etc.

I think you will be surprised, I can see it $3-4 by years end, and at $1.50 in a blink of eye. The Japs or the Germans will need to open up the cheque books very shortly.
