Good stuff mate. If you want to have a look into a recent study on a gold tailings project it is worth going and having a look at POS Windarra project study published in June (I’ll link below). The study explores the installation of a 1.5mtpa CIL processing facility to retreat 4.5mt of tailings with a head grade of 0.72g/t for contained gold of 105koz. Some relevant stats for Degrussa of which I estimate has today circa 10mt @ 1.16g/t for roughly 370koz and likely to add to this over the next two years of operations:
- A new 1.5mtpa CIL facility had an estimated cost of A$25m
- all in costs were estimated at ~$12/t which included mining costs at $3.30/t and processing at $6.50/t. This equated to ~A$1200/oz.
- recoveries were estimated at 42.3%
If we apply the same assumptions to Degrussa I estimate potential pre-tax cash flows of A$320m. Not bad for a company with an EV not far north of this. Add the old highway to this and it could be very profitable.
