The bricky is payed for bricks laid, why would he not use the the half? whether the labourer is doing cuts or the bricky is splitting with the trowel, ive never seen a bricky deliberately choose to leave a half if he already has one?
the only waste is in mortar where dags are cut off or washed out of the cavity.
I'd hate to see the labour involved in cleaning up the glue that was being thrown everywhere.
that's made to bond to concrete and dries in 40mins. imagine the clean up on the floor and walls after that last test.
