Laterites are typically low in grade, they are economical cause of other mineral credits that come with it.
There are plenty of laterite mines in operation in world today. They tend to be big in size and with mineral credits are profitable, providing process and technology is efficient.
I dont think it was the Laterite extraction process and technology that was the issue here though....
