CHIEF Secretary Isaac Lupari has assured the Autonomous Region of Bougainville that he will call a meeting on the drawdown of mining powers to the Autonomous Bougainville Government. ABG President Joseph Kabui said after returning from Cairns early this week, he had met with Mr Lupari to discuss the issue of the drawdown of mining powers to the ABG. He said Mr Lupari had assured him that he would be calling a meeting this week to deal with this issue. “After returning from Australia, I had some discussions with the Chief Secretary regarding the drawdown of mining powers to the Autonomous Bougainville government. “Mr Lupari has assured me that as of this week he will be calling a meeting to address this issue,” Mr Kabui said. “It is very pleasing that Mr Lupari is very concerned with this issue. “He has assured me that he will try to address it quickly because it is part of the agreement between the national government and ABG,” Mr Kabui said.
