Taller, faster, better, stronger: wind towers are only getting biggeR, page-2

I had a read on the GE Haliade the other day... such an impressive piece of kit... and at the same time mind boggling in its scale - the article I was reading was showed scale examples to known landmarks (pictures work well for me ). I am just amazed at where this tech could take us - if only we could get everyone on board. More constant wind energy, suitable battery storage to hold surplus that cant get delivered to grid.

How much consideration do current australian development permits give the height of windfarms??? As the next gen windmills are as you said Ash, a lot higher... and with bigger rotors that spin slower... but obviously take up a much larger piece of the sky-pie.
