Plenty of headlines & reporting In yesterdays West newspaper about the importance of GAS from Resource Technology Showcase Conference held in Perth.
Here's bits from some of the big gun speakers.
.Ms Madeline King - Fed Resource Minister
"In many cases Australian gas has the potential to lift millions out of energy poverty."
"Gas is critical to Australia's energy transition, among its benefits, the fuel would help process the critical minerals needed for the batteries, solar panels and windfarms powering the shift to renewable."
"Gas is essential for energy intensive projects such as extraction, concentration & processing of critical minerals, minerals that are central to the energy transition."
"If we don't have enough gas then we can't process our critical minerals, and we can't produce batteries for the storage of renewable energy and that makes our pathway to net zero emissions all the more difficult."
Ms King also highlighted the importance of LNG export revenue forecast to reach $90 BILLION in 2023.
I like Ms King she is driven and not buckling.
Mr Goyer - Woodside Chairman
"Its serious issue for Japan, it's a serious issue for other countries - Korea, China, other significant customers of ours."
This comment relates to Australia continuing to export its gas.
Mr Chris Ellison - MIN Boss
He was bullish about gas saying he is confident it would be around for the next 20 to 30 years, If not longer.
"If you turn gas off now there is nothing else - we'll have to keep burning coal,"
"We've got to pick the order we get out of them"
Meaning coal and diesel.
He also was big on how long it takes to get projects up and running through the Reg processes and how many companies just simply don't survive.
Mr Mark McGowan - WA Premier
Talking about jobs in the resources Industry in WA.
"So it's about making sure young people at school, TAFE or university can come, have some hands-on experience, understand that they, too, can go into this industry and do something productive and exciting, get trained up and have a career in WA as part of this important industry that generates income and wealth."
Positive conference from the Resource industry, let's have more of it!
Good fortune all.
