I've seen first hand over the years of what China is capable of with regards to large scale engineering works. They do it faster and cheaper. Doesn't look as pritty as the way the west does it but it gets done. Workers rights, health and safety, renumeration all take a back seat. Environmental and social impacts rarely considered.
