It does place Santos in the front seat, surely a STO executive would ask the question ""why are we paying these mugs ~100 Mill over 5 years for gas, when we can probably take them over for not much more and sure up gas supply along with all the added tenements and we already have a existing working relationship with PetroChina on other joint venture/s."

Now don't get me wrong TPD is my largest holding over 2 accounts with 1.2mill shares and I want to see it become a producer more than one, but every day I don't see a takeover offer, I am equally relieved as much as I'm surprised.
