Unstable, my thoughts on the use of laninavir as a preventative treatment, would be that it would only be used in this manner during pandemics, particularly severe flu seasons, or to those working in extremely high risk areas.
As it would need to be administed every week, I can't see how it would replace the flu shot (which provides immunity to that particular strain of virus). It would however, ensure that laninavir is the first-choice treatment during any serious outbreaks that occur.
Just my 2 cents, anyone else have an opinion on the way it would be used?
