Relensa was designed to be a inhaler from the start. The reason being that the virus it target lives in the upper repirtory tract. The inhaler delivers relenza were it needs to be to stop the virus binding and spreading.
Tamiflu as a pill form creates a systemic approach to the virus. The main reason for the pill was to avoid relenza patents.
You are right to say its easier to use but my point is Relenza is what it is. The reason it never gained traction was because of GSK refusal to support it and focus on vaccines instead.
A vaccine is given by needle !! I'll take a inhaler any day.
