Well, the excellence of rational drug design technology(RDD), back in the seventies and eighties finally allows the world to see its true worth. Don't forget, it is the scientists Doctor Coleman, Dr von Itzstein and Dr Wu that lead to the creation of the molecular lock that is so tight that no strains of flu that has ever been discovered has ever been able to mutate to break away from the lock. Tamiflu has always had the potential of allowing flu to mutate and became resistent to it. It was a timing issue, it just took over ten years for this to happen. Tamiflu is a pro-drug requiring acid activation in the gut before becoming systemic active, it requires molecular rearrangement before locking up the flu virus. The mutation probability to create a resistance to the molecular rearrangment of the lock was high. We now have it... game-set-and match to Relenza. The choice of the relenza design not to be a pro-drug was also now demonstrated to be a good decision. Tamiflu once activated by gut acid and travel via the systemic path has shown to breach the blood-brain barrier therefore making some children and young adults that took it to behave abnormally. I suppose this is also game-set and match to Relenza.

Now, onto LANI, don't foget it is thousands of time as potent as Relenza, because LANI is a Relenza Dimer and is configured to cluster flu viruses via a network web. So it inherits the game-set-match of Relenza, mutiply by several thousand fold. Its a pity not many people people see this.

Here is a bit of trivia, did you know where Gilead got the neuramidase crystals to developed Tamiflu? Dr Laver, now deceased, a former Biota Scientific Director sold it to them. Dr Coleman, a former Biota Director discovered the active site of the flu neuramidase structure using CSIRO's x-ray crystallography, the discovery was published in the scientific journal NATURE. The details was BIOTA's secret, but LAVER gave this to Gilead as well. BIOTA did not pursue LAVER on this, only thing they did was kick LAVER out of the company.

The question now is, what is the merit of stockpiling Tamiflu when there is a high probability that it will not, or does not work now. It is a "lay down Mazair" the future pandemic strain will be resistance to Tamiflu. I pity the first lot of pandemic patients taking TAMIFLU. You can see the Doctors saying, sorry are you already dead, please come back to life so that we can can give you RELENZA either/or LANI.
