Good post by the way, never heard that history of Biota. The LANI compound is very exciting, the recent presentation confirms it works on the tamiflu resistant strain.

Do you think we'll see an efficacy improvement in the phase III trial given this strain was quite dominant in the last flu season? Also, do you think it's possible this resistant virus will vanish as quick as it came?

The trouble is that Tamiflu has such a powerful brand name at the moment, it's going to be hard taking market share... perhaps the scientists making recommendations to world governments will do it for BTA.
