Otis Redding is my very favourite singer of all time! I bought every record which he produced.
No he is not from TAMLA MOTOWN. He was a soul singer, most of his recordings were on the STAX label.
Yeah Ray Charles was also a brilliant artist You were privileged to be involved, how amazing.

I was just 13 when this was on, so young, but so in love with soul. Otis was the greatest artist. In the same year, I believe, he had a concert at The Fairfield Halls in Croydon, London. My mean Mum would not let me go, even with older girls, I was heartbroken.
But I was at The Locarno Ballroom in Streatham, SW London when the announcement was made that Otis and his band were killed in a tragic plane crash. I was 15.
I believe that the ready steady go recording was legendary, the band were absolutely incredible. How much wonderful music could he have given us? R.I.P. Otis, never forgotten.
