BNH - I'm no expert, so will stand corrected if I'm wrong. But I gather that the water that will be fed back into the surrounding system will be cleaner and purer than the water that is already in there.
It should also be noted that on visits by noted experts such as Jack Lifton and Alistair Neil (?name?) they stated that the LAMP was absolute state of the art. The implication being that the water evaporation techniques are, in fact, outdated and NOT state of the art.
Perhaps somebody who really understands the water thing can chime in here and correct me if I'm wrong, but I really doubt that Lynas would be claiming the LAMP is so environmentally safe if they were planning on pumping contaminated water back into the ecosystem.
