Uranium byproduct is shipped and sold and taken out of the mix, reducing environmental impact.
The Kvanefjeld deposit contains a very large but low-grade uranium resource, a significant proportion of which is hosted within the main RE minerals. In order to produce a saleable RE product it is necessary to remove the uranium and the refinery section of the flowsheet includes a uranium recovery circuit. The uranium will be recovered as uranium peroxide
(UO4) and will meet the specifications set by uranium conversion facilities.
I just wish some people would bother reading the announcements as environmental concerns regarding uranium are well covered.
Uranium mining is no longer prohibited in Greenland under Danish supervision.
Why is this still a topic?
Uranium byproduct is also reducing CO2 emissions.
I'm very supportive of environmentally sustainable mining and only invest in companies where guidelines to mine with the minimum of possible environmental impact are followed.
GGG is ticking all boxes.
Same goes for zinc in smaller amount and villaumite.
Those additional shipments of minerals allow our REE supply to be so cost effective and competitive.
The positive outcome of the EIA was written on the wall when our latest Danish staff member joined the managements ranks.
