HHL is not an investment vehicle so you wouldn't value it on it's investments/assets that it holds. It is a fund manager that makes profit by earning fees from the funds that it invests on behalf of investors, in its various funds and HHV, a listed fund.
Like any other company it is valued by a combination of its ability to make profits in the future plus any assets it may hold.
