Helmenesh. I will always come back to the chart of US money supply and compare that to the POG.
It shows that it doesn't matter if they are currently running a QE or not. Money printing continues long term regardless. I can't see how that will change or in fact more realistically I can't see how it won't pick up in pace. Whether it’s the Fed buying US bonds or whether they can con foreign countries to buy most or all of them again is irrelevant. This is why an end to QE (Fed doing the buying) being a negative for gold is pure myth from a fundamental point of view. Gold should keep up with the increasing money supply. It is currently lagging behind by a very large amount. The media has brainwashed Western investors to believing QE tapering is a negative with the obvious short term result of lower POG. China on the other hand is encouraging its citizens to buy and it practices what it preaches buying all its own production, buying international mines and importing gold as well. These are the facts. I don't care how the media spins it. I look at the facts for long term fundamentals which always win out.
This period will go down as a huge buying opportunity similar to the GFC. Trying to pick the bottom ahead of time is never easy. I guess it depends on how many are left to sell that can still be influenced into selling relative to how many want to buy.
Some good signs today. Despite tapering being announced earlier than the market expected, we have many gold stocks up today, some even and a few still down but well off lows.
ABU looks likely to make its mc back in profits in its first two years at $1200 gold. What about $1500, $1800 or much higher prices as the POG relative to M2 implies?
