Be careful those out of GBR yesterday may have thought the same thing regarding intraday trading and look what happened there.
Though I do agree with you that more often than not an announcement is before market opens in the morning.
From what I saw and I wasn't watching closely, the large buys pushed it up, was dumped on filling most who had bids in and then once it started to retrace after the larger bids were filled the smaller sellers panicked and pushed it down as I think the big buyers had all their orders filled.
I could be wrong and often are however that was more bullish than bearish trading today, with the sell off on low volume relative to total days turnover.
Tar has a long way to go and unless you're trading a few pips up or down the real gains are still to come.
