Shares are administered by the share registry, Computershare in this case. The broker manages the buy and sell transactions, but the other information regarding TFN, dividend payments, address, communication preferences etc. are managed by the share registry.
Companies could manage their shareholder information themselves, but in most cases they farm that out to share registries like ComputerShare, Link Marketing Services etc.
